August/September

Welcome to an issue packed with stories of people reinventing what’s come before. Our cover star Josh
Hodge is a full-back for Newcastle Red Bulls, a rugby team who have had more than their fair share of change in the wrong direction. Now – thanks to vision, hard work and a few unusual bonding tasks – the freshly revamped
side is entering an exciting new era.
We also meet BMX champion Beth Shriever, who won a history-making fourth world title this summer. The tenacious Brit has become a master of adaptation to get to where she is. And, as the 27-year-old tells us, she’s not done yet.
Then, ahead of the much-anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto IV , we look at the record-busting rise of the video game that’s become an indelible part of popular culture – and how this latest instalment is about to surpass the last.
